Pest- do you play the guitar? I do, at least some,and I think "guitar hero" has very little to do with the skills you need to play an actual guitar, just as you don't have to be a good singer to get high scores in Singstar.


It's a fun game, none the less.

I think you're right. But the question was "Does any of the hand-eye translate to actual guitar?" And I think it does to a degree. Both hands needs to be coordinated and you need to hit the note. Apart from that it's ... just a game. However, it's a skill based game which translates to real music. The difficult songs to play in Guitar Hero is also more difficult on a real guitar.

Oh, and I do play the guitar.

Actually you need a sense for rythm and chord changes too. It's all about timing. Flexible fingers and a nerdy look helps. And heaps of time to practice.
