hmm. i agree with bret. try and fix a myspace. it dont have to take much time. really not! but it would maybe boost you hits and activity a great deal. dont brush it aside.

I am not going to argue with you. Visibility is good after all. But Ronni's commitment is to try to deliver the best online service to his fans, within the limit of his available time, and right now the decision is to use tnttheband.com and ronniletekro.com. Having a placeholder myspace page without the time to maintain it is only going to let alot of people down. This is where is's happening!

You myspace people can do good, in fact all of you can do, by linking this site and to the TNT site. Just because Ronni doesn't have a myspace page, doesn't mean that his presence on the net can't be advertised.

i just checked up a bit.

and i think ronnis popularity is pretty much equal to harnell? maybe even bigger? anyway. harnell got above 5000 friends, and 40 000 profile hits.

i would guess that ronni could expect something like that, if anyone took the time to make a official site. it really dont need a lot of stuff on it or updates at all. ronni dont have to spend a second visiting it. but just the fact he has a site to represent him would probably do him, tnt and other projects very much good. dont we all agree on that?

my advice: take 2 hours and get it up and running. find the 10 most relevant musicians and get on their friends list. thats probably enough to get some attention and get it rolling.

i would have done it if i had the info to put togeter a profile, but i dont.

I'd have to agree with Hawk here. Think of it as another tentacle of the octopus. You can never have enough feelers out there. Everybody & their mother's have a myspace page. It's an easy way to reach people & let them know what's going on without them having to come looking for you. Give it some more thought...I'd certainly be one of his "friends"

Vagabond has a myspace page. They just added me as a friend. Who runs that page?

he has a nice place here, yes. thats true, but to say a myspace page is not needed is like saying "he has a nice band, a solo album and a book this year. he dont need a tv-show". its true, he didnt NEED a tv-show, but it is very good PR, dont you think?

A MySpace page would help in any case.
Not only in Ronni´s case, but for every artist/musician in general. It´s not much work, and the possibility to reach many fans should be motivation enough.

It's a no-feature placeholder page with a picture of Ronni (The same photo as the sleve of Kingdom of Norway, by Marit Hermstad). It also features a soundclip of Kingdom of Norway, and a link to www.ronniletekro.com.

And before you start arguing about the lack of features on the page let me repeat the following:

1. myspace is all about getting friends to sign up as friends, and many does so for anything except to actually get in contact with the individual / band / organisation / artist. We may expand the features on the site some time in the future, but nothing that will take work away from rlt.com or other ongoing projects.

2. Ronni has stated before that his online presence is here. He isn't the most online person in the world, and anyone who has been following his schedule knows how busy he likes to keep himself. There is an administrative overhead in maintaining this list of friends, so making a placeholder page to point people to this site, with a musical sample seemed like a good compromise. To think that Ronni will actually sit down and maintain thousands of friends, well that is simply not going to happen. Not for the lack of care, but for the lack of skills and time... the latter being the prominent factor.

So chalk up one to having some spare time this weekend at Toten.
