Come to John Dee tonight. Get blurry with us.
Photo: Ronni

Joke aside. I was present at the soundcheck today, and the final shots for the Happy video. For the live band you will see Jon Johannessen on guitar, Victor Borge on Bass, Bård Petter "BP" Hovik on drums, Markus Klyve on keyboards and this is great - the viola player from the Halo gig will be there to complete the backing band. Ronni will of course be there, too. Wink

Here's a picture from the sound check:

Forget the soccer game today, drop down to John Dee for some real entertainment. They start 21.30 sharp. (Standard non-weekend Rockefeller start time for those who don't know). A lot of people in the RLT/TNT family will be there.

While I'm presently chained to a desk, I'm there with you in spirit! Cheers to you all at John Dee!

I would've loved to have seen this show. What a great setlist, since it's mostly all solo stuff.

What's Jon Blund?

What's Jon Blund?

Jon Blund video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUtCbhS4fGQ

A sort-of translation:
"Who is this man with a beard and a hat on?
He looks a bit like santa actually, but it's not him it's Jon Blund. He visits young and older children

Yes, Jon Blund brings every evening to all the children, something exiting, something strange, This evening's Right is beginning soon. Let us start, ready, set, go."

All children have the right to understanding and love.

"I always gets sleepy after Jon Blund has left. It's always been like that with Jon Blund. I will shortly go to sleep. Thank you for tonight, and good night."

So the facts.
Jon Blund was for Norwegians part of a children's TV series that run every day from 1-Dec up to Christmas (which for us is the 24th). The beginning and the end is always the same, but the middle part (TV) tells children about the United Nations' Convention on the Rights of the Child. Jon Blund can be directly translated to Sandman, or in German SandMännchen.

The animated series is really from Germany. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandm%C3%A4nnchen

The concert ended with Ronni singing this (rather poorly) in high pitch, with the audience singing along to the keyboard backdrop before the entire band came in for the grand finale.

Good concert, good setlist, lots of lovely people and Norway beat Bosnia 2-0 in soccer. Wink

Nah. I had a red jacket on yesterday, and if you saw me before the concert I was partly by the bar, and partly on the table to the left of the stage. During the concert I was in the front row to the left of Ronni.

I may be accused of many things, but being blond is not of them. Well, I was, back in them hairy days ... Wink Yesterhair ...

I also enjoyed the gig very much last night! The songs from the new album worked really well live, and it was nice to hear some material like Cathedral and The Man Who Would Be King live again. There actually was quite a good response from the audience when Ronni announced that they would play some Vagabond material, but that never happened unfortunately. Otherwise a great evening!

I was there as well, forgot the camera and mobile phone at home, so no pics. Sad
Great show, maybe a bit too psychadelic for my taste, and I wish they had not pressed the PA that hard, it was muddyish in the lower frequencies, but all in all, a great evening. Something to remember.

Nice meeting several of you people. Looking forward to the next time!
