My Norsk skills are far too limited to have truly got the proper sense of the shows' content, but from what I discerned of the interactions, it was lighthearted enough. And taking a page from the early Rolling Stones, and later, Motley, rather bad publicity than none! So favorable impressions or no, I doubt it's the last Tekro TV appearence you'll see this year so just sit back and enjoy!

Anyway, this was the most watched TV program in Norway last week. I read that over 1 mill people watched this program, so then it can't have done any harm that Ronni acted in a way that people remember him. And they do that after this show. Very Happy

True. There's a saying "There's no such thing as bad publicity." Being a little controversial can——and does——put your name in people's mind and on their lips. They're talking about it, and that's free publicity. It can be more effective than a paid advertisement. How many people make it on tv every single day and are, for the most part, instantly forgettable? There will be people who will hear the name next time, and they'll want to investigate because of the initial impression (good or bad) to see what's up. They'll be curious despite themselves.

I couldn't understand a word of it, but nothing I could see was out of character. Either way, no matter. It was publicity, stunt or otherwise, and people who aren't overly sensitive should be able, at the very least, get a good chuckle out of it. It's life itself.

I agree with JAGG: all the interaction between everyone seemed to be light enough, and body language/facial expressions speak volumes. No one seemed too perturbed or put-off, and everyone rolled with the punches. Also, as others pointed out, they didn't edit it out, which speaks for itself.

He seemed to be having a good time. He didn't appear to be sloppy drunk or high as a kite! Maybe these people don't understand him. He has a zest for life and loves to joke and laugh...what the hell is wrong with that? Give the brutha a break! Laughing

I think Ronni had a great time, and he was himself..this show was on nrk,and I think thats the reason why people "complaining" about his behavour,if this show had been on another channel,we wouldn`t hear about it. nrk is a little bit "oldschool" tv...

Some statements here that I don't think should go unchallenged, mainly because they are simly not true:

http://dinosaurrockguitar.com/forum/index.php?topic=5691.0

1. Ronni's barn was not empty up to this summer. It was full of stuff he had collected over the years. The barn was cleaned and renovated for the Rock School TV show. And there has never been any form of production of alcohol there.

2. The end part where Ronni plays the guitar was partly done together with the other guest who were all over Ronni's guitar. Obviously he can't play his usual stuff, Comparing it to the Schenker incident is just a cheap shot comment.

3. Ronni does not have a "history" of alcohol, implying that he have had alcohol problems. Quite the opposite. The book Hekta states that Ronni didn't touch alcohol in the first years. And later very rarely. The near-death incident in the book comes after three drinks...

I think it's sad that people post untrue statements on forums read by alot of people. Especially since many are at a disadvantage not knowing Norwegian, or how Ronni is off-stage.

As I happened to meet with Ronni directly after the show was taped, I can affirm that he was in no way inebriated, intoxicated, or otherwise impaired. But does it really matter? It's pathetic but with no regard as to facts, individuals will believe whatever fantasy they are predisposed to.

Based on the comments made on the link mentioned above, I would have to conclude that "someone" seems to have a "hard on" for Ronni. If memory serves me, didn't this person make comments here regarding his(her?) dissatisfaction with Ronni's playing? I take these kind of comments with a grain of salt. It's kinda sad really, I mean, if I don't like something I don't take sooo much time to slam it everywhere including the artist's official site. Rolling Eyes

As it was said before here some place. They record 1 to 1 1/2 hour, and make it into 30 minutes. That tells me that they wanted this program as it turned out.
Alot of what happens in this program is planned before they start.
