What are you doing!!

That is the special super mega secret Le Tekro lick.

It opens up the gateway to playing at warp speed!!

Any one who attempts its may lose their fingers shredding at that speed, if they are not properly trained!!

Was just having some fun between classes...

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Oh, but if anyone wants to post a video playing that last one, I'd truly love to see it because I don't have the lick mastered yet
myself! In fact, I'm still trying to figure out what some of the symbols mean... Laughing Laughing Laughing

Just reposted these in the appropriate area.

Code:
Use double/tremolo picking; just keep going and vary pattern of notes for crazy rhythmic feel; whatever your heart desires.  The picking is steady, but how you vary the pattern gives the lick its robotic/mechanical feel.  Just pick like your mother is watching:

|--------------------------------------------------
|--------------------------------------------------
|--0-9-12-9-12-0-9-12-9-12-0-9-12-9-12-9-12-9-12---
|--------------------------------------------------
|-->-v->--v->-//-//-//-----------------------------
|--------------------------------------------------

alternate picking up/down w/open strings and legato:

|----------------------------------
|----------------------------------
|--0-9-12-0-9h12p9--//-//-//-------
|-->-v->--v->----------------------
|----------------------------------
|----------------------------------

|-------------------------------------------
|-------------------------------------------
|----0h9h12p9p0---0-9-12-0-9h12p9-----------
|--12------------------------------//-//-//-
|--->>------------>-v->--v->----------------
|-------------------------------------------

Use muting whenever and wherever it floats your boat and pick it like ya mean it.

Key:

> =downstroke (pick downward)

v =upstroke (pick upward)

// =repeat phrase (and/or picking pattern)

h =hammer-on

p =pull-off

Enjoy. :^D

Code:
Play with single economy strokes over two strings (NO UPSTROKES):
|---------------------------------------------------
|---------------------------------------------------
|---0h2h4p2p0-----0h5h7p5p0---0h2h4p2p0---0h2h4p2p0-
|--4-------------7-----------4-----------7----------
|---------------------------------------------------
|---------------------------------------------------

|----------------------------------------------------
|----------------------------------------------------
|---0h2h4p2p0---0h5h7p5p0---0h7h9p7p0-----0h9h12p9p0-
|--4-----------7-----------9------------12-----------
|----------------------------------------------------
|----------------------------------------------------

|-------------------------------------------------
|----0h9h12p9p0----0h10h13p10p0----0h11h14p11p0---
|--12------------13--------------14---------------
|-------------------------------------------------
|-------------------------------------------------
|-------------------------------------------------

|-----------------------15----|
|-----0h12h15p12p0---15b/-----|
|--15-------------------------|
|-----------------------------|
|-----------------------------|
|-----------------------------|

Key:
Use the other keys!  :^D  BTW: b/ =bend string up (as much you feel like it needs to be bent up; just don't get bent outta shape doing it!

And now all the lick tabs are more or less in one place. Kinda, sorta, maybe...

This week's Ronni lick. Very Happy

I'm going for an old Knights-era lick this time around. For sure, even.

For this one, you use the two-string economy downstroke, followed by a downstroke pinch harmonic, executed by picking the string simultaneously with the pick and the flesh of your thumb (listen to John Sykes and Zakk Wylde for pick harmonics galore if you're not sure).

Code:

|--------------------------------
|--------------------------------
|---0h7h9p7p0--[7]---------------
|--9------------►--//-//-//------
|--►►----------------------------
|--------------------------------

Key:
► =downstroke
h =hammer-on
p =pull-off
[] =note is pinch harmonic
// =repeat lick as often as it takes for the neighbors to call the police

Bonus lick of the week:

Play careful and don't get hurt!
|------------------------------------------‡------
|-------------------------------------------♦-----
|--♀-§▼6►12h17p↨o-2---------------------------8----
|--9--------------↕☼4.5‰-----------------------¿---
|-----------------------——2_3123h17---------------
|--------------------------------↑↓-0t13b\/¡------

That was my silly madness btw. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

(Don't use 'em all in one place...'specially that second one!)

I'm finishing up my 3rd essay, as well as my final report (EARLY), and this should take a huge load off of the rest of the semester (already!). So, what that means, is that I'm going to try to post an ad at school to find someone who can teach me how to post video on YouTube (I just don't get it...). Once I can get the requested help, I will work on posting some videos on YouTube demonstrating the various licks I've tabbed (because internet tab is really lame, but it's also a means of communicating, so ya gotta use it).

Perhaps we can trade a few licks on here (that's why Shredder started this thread). There are a couple o' Ronni licks I'm still trying to figure out: fast run in TNT's Take Me Down (Fallen Angel) (variation on same lick used in Stage Dolls' Cowgirl and beginning of Rosenborgsangen solo); fast run at the end of Learn To Love solo; fast opening run of Tell No Tales solo, plus the fast rhythmic lick in the Everybody's Got A Secret solo. Yep.

Anywhy, that's what I hope to do. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I've chosen to learn Edvard Grieg's Hall Of the Mountain King for my recital at the end of the semester. I may perform it with someone as a duet, I'm told. Interesting. Anyway, for those who aren't familiar, TNT used that excellent Norwegian composition to open their shows back in the 80's. My personal little tribute to beautiful Norge. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I guess that's all. Have fun.

Hello again,

Good luck with the essays!

Could you write down the time at which these runs are happening in the song off of the CD. Then I will know exactly which part you are trying to work out.

I might be able to help! Shocked

I love that run at the end of the learn to love solo.
Its is so smooth its edible.And the run ends well also.
I love Ronni's vibrato!!!

You cant beat him for beautiful melodic solos, with those little blasts of shredding!!!

Cheers

Neil

I gotta say, that all solos from INTUITION are the best solos I've ever heard.

The sound, style... EVERYTHING.

This album was, and is the reason why I fell for Ronni.

JUST AMAZING !!!!

Hi, Shredder. I'll get back to you soon on those times. Right now I've been terribly sick since Wednesday night: fever, nausea, sore throat, headache, chills, sweats, and I think every muscle and joint in my entire body aches. It sucks! On top of that, I have tickets to see jazz-fusion guitarist extraordinaire, John Scofield, tomorrow night. I don't plan to miss that, irregardless of how I feel, so I'm fighting this big-time. I'm writing this response in between fevers, while I'm still feeling okay. Being sick sucks...

Anyway, thanks for any help and contributions in advance.

Cheers

Feelin' much better...whew! Definitely going to that Scofield show tonight (pretty psyched)! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Happy guy. Anyway, to celebrate feeling better; another Tekrø lick. The omnipresent economy stroke is...err...present. And...yep. Time for some tea.

Here's something I picked up while listening to the Guitar Solo track on "Three Nights In Tokyo." Use muting.

Code:

|--------------------------------------------------
|--------------------------------------------------
|--14-16-14-16-14-0-12-14-12-14-12-0-9-11-9-11-9-0-
|--------------------------------------------------
|--------------------------------------------------
|--------------------------------------------------

|--------------------------------------------
|--------------------------------------------
|-7-9-7-9-7-0-5-7-5-7-5-0-2h4p2p0------------
|---------------------------------0h2h4p2p0--
|--------------------------------------------
|--------------------------------------------

|--------------------------------------------|
|--------------------------------------------|
|--------------------------------------------|
|--------------------------------------------|
|--0h2h3p2p0-0h2h3p2p0-0h2h3p2p0-0h2h3p2p0---|
|--------------------------------------------|

And...a cool rhythmic motif that is used a lot live (caught this listening to a b**tl*g live in Trondheim cd). I'm not 100% sure of this one, but I'm about 98% sure...Okay, maybe 98.3% sure. It's a really cool, chunky, "outside" sounding riff.

Code:

|-----------------------------------------------
|-----------------------------------------------
|-----------------------------------------------
|-----------------------------------------------
|-----------------------------------------------
|--0-4-3-2--0-6-5-4--0-5-4-3--0-7-6-5--0-6-5-4--

|-----------------------------------------------
|-----------------------------------------------
|-----------------------------------------------
|-----------------------------------------------
|-----------------------------------------------
|-0-8-7-6--0-7-6-5--0-9-8-7--0-8-7-6--0-10-9-8--

|---------------------------------------------|
|---------------------------------------------|
|---------------------------------------------|
|---------------------------------------------|
|---------------------------------------------|
|-0-9-8-7--0-11-10-9--0-10-9-8--0-12-11-10----|

That's just a very linear version of the lick; it can be used a ton of different ways. It's really the "pattern" that counts.

Cheers.
