| Quote: | Meeting Ronni: Axel Røflo Indgul (left) and Peder Overvik Stuberg from Inderøy met their big guitarhero Ronni Le Tekro after his guitar workshop yesterday.
Wet rock and rough riffs
It was to say the least wet when TNT entered the stage at Guldbergaunet last night, about 20 minutes delayed. The audience didn't seem to mind.
Time was spent drying up the stage before the concert could start. That is, to get the stage as dry as it could be. The weather didn't seem to bother the audience much. They eagerly waited in numbers in front of the stage, and when the first tones pounded out of the wet speakers, the crowd's spirit was lifted up significantly. Tony Mills didn't mind the weather either, as he proclaimed that "wet rock is ok".
Guitar Workshop
It was also crowded in the Bodega earlier in the day, when Ronni Le Tekro had his guitar workshop. Young and old fans were there to enjoy an "intimate" moment with the guitar hero. The almost 44 year old guitarist talked about sound, action on the guitar, boxes, pedals, amps and played familiar TNT-riffs, much to the delight of the man-dominated crowd. The riffs of "Seven Seas", "My Religion" and "10 000 lovers" was awarded with applause, and Tekro said that this is so easy that even old granny could do it.
The rocker is debuting this fall on reality-TV, when TV2 Zebra kicks off "Rock School" September 1. His mission there is to create rockers from classical schooled youngsters.
-It's all about making rockers from nerds. It went pretty well, but I must admit I had some hard nights, smiles Tekro, and assure us that he don't want to become a reality celeb.
-No, this is something I'm doing once, and that's it.
Fan meeting
Ronni Le Tekro's guitar workshop is one of many during the festival. Most of the attendees were young and grown-up men, but the two youngest were Peder Overvik Stuberg (11) and Axel Røflo Indgul (11) from Inderøy. They are huge fans of Tekro, and they too play the guitar.
After the workshop they got Ronni's autograph, and Peder quietly asked if Ronni would answer the fan letter he sent a few days ago.
- Yeah, that's already been sent, Ronni answered, to Peder's big delight.
Praising Ronni
- I play in a band called Kactus, says Peder. He has seen TNT live once before, on Lerkendal. Aksel saw his heroes for the first time last night.
- Ronni is very good, and one of Europe's best guitarists, concludes Axel.
They were greatly inspired by Tekro's guitar workshop, and Ronni said to all the participants that in the future he very well could be a producer for some of them. Many were playing in local bands, and were able to see and hear different techniques presented by Tekro. |
