I just love the melody lines on this vintage Japan bonus track! Excellent use of phrasing in minor pentatonic with notes from the Mixolydian mode (so lick features both minor and major third).

Although I haven't taken the time to transpose the solo yet (still messin' w/acoustic, and solo requires some whammy bar action), here's the basic gist of the choppy machine-gun lickin' part going on in the solo. Once you get this lick down, all you've got to do is find the right pitches...on the G-string, where he usually plays this one (although there are exceptions in some songs, 9 times out of 10 it'll be the G-string). This lick is featured in tons of songs, most recently Black Butterfly.

I'll work on the solo proper at some other time (it's actually pretty easy).
