I can only imagine trying to find that Magnetics pickup would be next to impossible. I'm not even sure if it's hum canceling?

In the eighties, Ronnie used a german neck- pickup called Rockinger on the black and white stratocaster. It was used for the seven seas album, and is common knowledge. The sound is spectacular, isn't it? |

The tremolo was Rockinger, while the pick-up/s was/were Magnetics (which Rockinger, among others, distributed). OOP for many years, but here's a new site, so they're apparently back up and running: http://www.magneticspickups.com/eng/ Notice mention of Ronni (Ronny) on the homepage (near bottom). Rockinger: http://www.rockinger.com/index.php?lang=eng (I don't believe Rockinger produces original tremolos anymore, but they came stock on various 80's Kramer guitars.) Common knowledge... Skål |

See link above for pick-up info. Chorus in late-80s was the same ol' BOSS CE-2 pedal, based on Young Guitar article w/photos. Don't know about in-studio recording or earlier rack gear possibilities. |

Currently, Seymour Duncan Custom on bridge, EMG SA-1 on neck. Ibanez wah (according to articles; in pics, looks like a Crybaby to me; don't know much about Ibanez wahs), Digitech Whammy II (the black one), BOSS CE-2, BOSS BF-2, BOSS OD-1, BOSS SD-2, RE-150 Space Echo The Magnetics are back. I'm looking into them for a possible custom guitar project. Alnico and stacked pick-ups. Looks nice...but how do they sound? I need something flexible for rock-jazz-fusion. Hmmm... Also, the Magnetics and the EMGs are active pups. |

Until I get out of school, forget Magnetics pups. For $189 US, they'd have to cook me supper and do the dishes. In fact, I wouldn't mind if they did the laundry too. ESP active pups are more than half that price, and they do the job quite nicely. |
