This launch was last week, and Ronni came home with a huge grin on his face.

Here is the presentation of the project.

A forthcoming website can be found here.

From BA (Bergensavisen) 18 Aug

Translated for the international fans of Ronni Le Tekrø at his website www.ronniletekro.com by Petter Stene.
Article from Bergens Avisen (BA), Lørdag 15 Aug 2008
Written by Øystein Rise (oystein.rise@ba.no)

Guitar Buddies

The guitarists Mads Eriksen, Ronni Le Tekrø and Terje Rypdal hit their strings together and become Norway's new Super-Trio.

Bergen is the starting point for the project N3 (Norwegian 3) which will have a jam session at Hagstrøm Musikk 2 September. The three guitariest, each of them veterans and among the best musicians in Norway, are looking forward to play together.

American model: The concept is based on G-3 in USA, where the star guitarists Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Eric Johnson was the founding members. - It was a great idea at the time, and we don't hide the fact that we created N-3 based on them, says Mads Eriksen.

Eriksen's manager, Stig Nedreberg is a driving force behind this fall's newcomer, and he has been brewing on this idea for three-four years. - Never before has this amount of guitartechnique and musical skills been gathered in Norway, he says to BA (Bergens Avisen). - We were supposed to gather at Gol three years ago, but that time I couldn't make it, adds Mads Eriksen.

Preparations: - It will be great with a kick off in Bergen, says Terje Rypdal. The trio will throughout the fall make plans for next year. How things are done, and what is still a little loose. - The setlist is not determined yet, but we will use our new and old material. Both Ronni and I have new albums out, and Terje has heaps to pick from. So it will be very exciting, Eriksen concludes.

What is certain, is that the three guitarists will play different large festivals. - We will take this to all the large cities in Norway. Among the venues we want to use are Rockefeller in Oslo and Lagunen in Bergen, explains Nedreberg.

Bergen: Representatives from Fender Norway and Roland will also be present in the music store, 2 September. Both the backing band and Mads Eriksen lives in Bergen, which is one of the reason that the project will be based there. The band that will be backing the three guitar aces are Steinar Krogstad on drums and percussion, Frank Hovland on bass and Gunnar Bjelland on keyboards.

Probably a very silly question but will N3 play outside of Norway?

Thanks for the updates PeSt and Bajas.

Not likely, but look on the frontpage http://www.ronniletekro.com for some info on possible US soloband gigs.

Do you remember You where there Jagg? It was a bigger venue this time.

The show started at 7:30pm, and that is quite early for a gig. Most of the songs was instumental, but Ronni did vocal on several songs.

First Ronni started with two of his solo songs, Kingdom of Norway and Dig It. Realy good and rocking start for a gig like this.

Then Mads come on stage and did 3 songs. I'm not very familiar with his music, so I dont know the name on those songs.

After this, Terje Rypdal come on stage, and did some of his sings..

Then Ronni come back on stage, and played 2 songs from Rypdal/Tekrøe. The Man Who Would Be King, and Cathedral.

Then Mads come back on stage, and the Norwegian 3 was complete. They played Dare Devil, Warning Eletric Guitar and Just a smile. before they ended the show with a cover of Neil Youngs Rockin' In The Free World.

This gig was great, and I already looking forward to the next gig I going too in April.

Here is an article on NRKs website, made by Aud Darrud. She use to run the TNT fanclub in Norway back in the old days. There is some video clips in the article as well, and they are recorded at the gig in Skien.

http://www.nrk.no/nyheter/distrikt/ostafjells/buskerud/1.6523637

In the interview Ronni says that he have been 12 years older in 11 days with touring.

Hey Bajas! Thank you for the review - although, I'm sad that I couldn't be there, reading your report helps a lot!!! The club in Skien was a great little venue but I am glad they had a bigger stage for the N3.

Thanks for the link to the article too... but what's with all the scruffy stuff on Ronni's face? ;-)
