Hey guys,
New guy on the block, sorta. I've visited Ronnie's site in the past, but it never looked like this! Nice!
Anyway, I've looked through the site, and haven't actually found anything pertaining to Ronnie's rigs, past and present, as well as his guitars, most notably, the famous checker guitar. I found some pics in the gallery, but nothing really dedicated. Did I miss it? If not, what do you guys know? Ronnie has been a major influence on me, from the first time I heard Knights Of New Thunder. Always felt he deserved more recognition, so I'm glad to see I've found a place to call home. Looking forward to being here.

Yeah, oddly enough, after I posted that, I found a nearby thread that spoke about his stage gear. Fellow forum user, Pest wrote:

At one time, I had read he denied using a Space Echo. I guess either that was false, or he decided to acknowledge that.

I've always dug his checker guitar. It's actually become the inspiration for my latest build. Still trying to decide if I wanna add a single coil in the neck, as well as the checker graphics. Wondering if the checkers were adhered to the guitar, as opposed to painted, as it always looked like one of the checker squares were shifted, right around where the arm woudl rest, maybe due to his arm from playing.

Well, anyway, I'm glad his site is thriving. I've always felt he was so under-rated, and deserved more credit. Glad there are other who agree.

You've got most of the primary gear listed here. The tape echo has always been a part of his sound, but not necessarily the key piece to his guitar tone. You can get close with the equipment listed here, just need to do some tweaking. I'm pretty sure the checker graphics were adhesive like you said.

Yeah, I looked a little closer to one of the pics, last night, and they are definitely sticker-like.

I noticed no one mentioned a key ingredient for any electric guitarists sound: his amp!

I've seen TNT live & know that he uses a Marshall. (JCM 800?) More importantly I remember the credits on "Tell No Tales" mentioning who Ronni's amps are modified by. (I don't have the vinyl album anymore but if I remember right it's on the back cover.)

To my ears I'd say the EQ section is modified because Ronni's sound has a particular midrange peek.

Any engineers out there or guitarists with "golden ears?" If we could narrow down the frequency you could get pretty close to his sound.

The checker guitar had the pattern adhered to it, but this is now removed. SO it was not painted.

The Marshall tops were modified by Johnny Jelstad from Trondheim. The modification are "less distortion on the pre-amp tubes."

Does anyone know if Alltron Electronics Johnny Jelstad has a website or email contact information?

I've done a google search but only found a phone number.

I am located in North America and would prefer the first contact to be email since I don't even know if Jelstad speaks English

Any info would be greatly appreciated...Thanks !!!!
