Thankyou so much!!

I Apprieciate it, really kind words.

If I can help in any way I will.

For the first few years of being into Ronni's playing there were no tabs and I had no videos of him playing. So it was hard at times, to work out what he was doing. Shocked

But with a friend of mine who likes his playing we worked out some of his stuff, and then eventually we saw tabs and the Forever Shine on video and worked out more.

So if I can help anyone I am more than happy too.

But I am in no way a Ronni expert, I just love playing and learning his techniques.

We will all have to wait for lessons from the man himself next year and I am really looking forward to it.

Thanks again

Neil

I used an ibanez universe 7 string

Through a POD XT straight into the pc.

Its a tone I programed into it , basically Distortion and some delay.

Thanks

May I ask what amplifier you use when playing live?

No problem,

For some gigs with a good P.A, I use my POD XT.
I also have the footboard to go with it.
You can get a great sound.

But for some gigs I use.

A guitar rack with

Alesis quadreverb effects unit
ADA mp1
ADA power amp
Boss compressor/ noise gate
Korg tuner (knight rider looking light on it!)
ADA footboard

Through a Marshall 4x12 speaker cabinet custom split into stereo.

ADA is an old pre amp used quite alot in the 80's early 90's.
Some people who used them were

Paul Gilbert
Nuno Bettencourt
Skid Row
Queensryche

Its a valve pre amp and sounds really nice. It has chunk distortion and a nice clean sound too.
It is also midi compatable so when you change a setting on the footboard it changes the tone aswell as controls the Quadreverb for the effects. It saves dancing on multiple pedals for effects.Wink

I used the ADA Rack for over 10 years. But the POD is alot easier to transport around now a days. As long as there is a good PA for it to go through.

Hope that helps

Neil

I used to like the ADA/Preamp stuff too, used to use it through MESA Boogie power amplifier for gigs. Either that or the Ampeg Lee Jackson I had, remember those?

These days I use an old Marshall Plexi from '69 + 4 X 12, a Crybaby Wah and a Les Paul. How times change as you get older! A lot less frigging hassle too. Wink

Best regards,

Paul

Too true!!

Yes I do remember that stuff!

I used to put my rack through 2 marshall 4x 12's stacked up!!

Perhaps thats why I suffer with tinitus now.

I see you are from UK

I live about 2 miles from Stonehenge.

question for Ronni..I wonder if there is prossesors that can provide the right harmonics live (pitchshifters)with good quality?I miss the saturated sounds you have on the albums..for the 80`songs.
had a roland gp100 ,rocktron chameleon and some other stuff in the mid 90`s but couldnt get it to sound right.
keep it comin`!
