I forget who played the solo in that tune, but I think it was Reb Beach. I could be wrong. I'm gonna look it up!

Nope, some guy named Fred Clark. I know Beach was doing some studio work before, during, and after Winger, and on some very commercial material too, but not on that track.

Dont know what though.

Did you here Nuno Bettencourts rhythm playing on Black Cat by Janet Jackson, talking of commercial stuff.

Some great little fills. Theer is a version where he didnt do it too, no where near as groovy!! A shame he didnt do the solo!!

I've never heard that. I do have a very commercial Tone Norum (John's li'l sis) cd from Sweden which features all members of Europe throughout, including guitar from both John Norum and Joey Tempest. Interestingly, I believe there's a Malmsteen solo on there too. I'd have to check. The music is so cheesy that I rarely ever listen to it; maybe three times since total over the years.

I remember a picture in a swedish Rock Magazine called Okey, where Malmsteen and John was standing behind Tone in the studio. I think there was a hit song from that album, but I dont think I have heard the rest of the album.

Wiki to the rescue:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tone_Norum

Tone Norum, born on September 18, 1965 in Sweden, is a Swedish pop singer who gained popularity in the 1980's and 1990's. She is the younger sister of John Norum, the guitarist from Europe.

Her debut album, One of a Kind, was released in 1986. It was written and produced by Europe vocalist Joey Tempest, and included hits like "Stranded" and "Can't You Stay?". Her second album, This Time, featured another hit, the duet "Allt som jag känner" with Tommy Nilsson. →In this album, in the song ¨point of no return¨, Yngwie Malmsteen played the guitar←. Her 1990 album "Red" was produced by her then husband/musician/producer Max Lorentz. Norum's 1992 hit, "Don't Turn Around" had been covered by another Swedish act, Ace of Base, with their dance version released in 1994.
