Synnøve Rognlien, UNDR
Released on Kirkelig Kulturverksted 2008
http://www.kkv.no

Ronni plays guitar on this album, and from what I have heard of it, it showcases his unique ability to sit in the background and allow elements from the other performers to shine through, while still maintaining his sound, feel and what you would expect from Ronni. (The Halo gig is another splendid example on that, and parts of this album is recorded in the Jacob Church, the venue for the Halo gig).

UNDR is Synnøve Rognlien's debut album, but still it has an element of things that you wouldn't expect from a debutant when you put the CD in the player.
She is described as a songpoet, and that is a very fitting description.

"If you dare to expose yourself to an unique mix of musical and poetic elements from worlds usually far apart, then you will have alot to experience from a meeting with Synnøve Rognlien and her debut album"

So starts the press release for the album, and indeed her poetic lyrics and distinct vocals are the key component on the album, but top notch musicians contributes significantly to set the listener in the right mood and context.

Ronni described the music as daring, alternative and cheeky, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of giving his contribution on this album. There are no machinegun solos on this album Smile but you wouldn't expect that either, if you listen to it.

The vocals are in Norwegian, but the musical experience is universal. Give it a shot.

I had the great pleasure of meeting up with Synnøve during the Norwegian3 (N3) gig in Oslo this weekend, and she wanted to remind everyone of her Myspace page:

Four full tracks from her debut album can be heard there.
